If severe weather prevents graduation from being held on that date, the ceremony will be rescheduled for June 8 at 8:30 a.m., also in Cougar Stadium. We will broadcast a live video stream of the ceremony on the Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/ColletonCountyHighSchool/ ). Students will be given two tickets to give to two guests of their choosing to attend the ceremony, in order to reserve enough space to properly distance event attendees according to Centers for Disease Control guidelines. Those two guests will be seated next to each other for the entirety of the ceremony so each pair can be properly distanced from other guests. Additional information on the release of guest tickets, parking, and other matters will be placed on the and Colleton County School District webpages closer to the date of the event. ************** Seat-Time Recovery for Failure Due to Absences SENIORS ONLY **The FA's to be cleared are those accumulated prior to March 13, 2020. All Failure Due to Absences must be made up as soon as possible. Students are required to clear all FA’s in order to be awarded their high school diploma. The last day to have FA’s cleared is May 30th. The cost of each FA recovery credit is $25.00. Upon paying the $25.00 students will receive access to the seat time recovery curriculum that must be completed for the credit to be awarded. Mr. Locklair is the administrator supervising the attendance/FA process. Questions related to the number of seat time hours, dates or days should be directed to him. If you or your child does not have a formal Senior Picture on file with the school, please see the message below: Ms. Becky Roy will be at CCHS on Tuesday from 9-2 in the PAC Lobby taking pictures for those students that have not taken their Formal Senior pictures with Lifetouch. Pictures will be for school use in celebrating Seniors and there will not be a sitting fee for them. Only students that have been identified by the school without a senior picture on file will be photographed. If you are unsure if you or your child are on the list of students not photographed, please contact Mrs. Townsend at ltownsend@colleton.k12.sc.us . How Will Students be Graded? In response to the closure of public schools by Governor Henry McMaster due to the spread of COVID-19, students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade were provided distance learning materials from March 16-May 8, 2020. Documents have been placed on colletonsd.org and each of our school websites with information on how the distance learning material will be graded at each level (elementary, middle and high). Access document here As a reminder, teachers at all of our schools are available daily to provide feedback and assistance with our distance learning materials. As the school district has been instructed to provide learning opportunities for our students through the end of the school year, Colleton County School District will release additional distance learning materials on May 11 through our websites. Parents who prefer a pencil-and-paper version of this new material can contact their school’s principal to arrange a time to pick up physical copies. Attention Class of 2020: Be advised that the administration of CCHS and members of a special Class of 2020 Recognition Committee will assemble soon to discuss various activities and acknowledgements for the graduating Class of 2020 . Refunds for Prom 2020 Refunds for students who paid to attend the prom will be mailed to the student whose name is listed on the receipt of purchase. Checks will be sent to the mailing address listed in PowerSchool. ********* CCHS students who will not be using an electronic device to complete distance learning assignments can pick up paper and pencil packets from on Monday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In order to receive their correct packets, students/parents will need to know their class and teacher names. Those who were unable to receive a Chromebook/Laptop during their initial distribution on April 1 or April 2 will be able to pick one up on from CCHS April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attention Students: Your CCHS Counselors have created grade-level Google Classroom courses for all your guidance needs. Please log in to Google Classrooms using your @colleton.k12.sc.us email address. The courses have important information, including scholarship applications for seniors.
